What can you do yourself after a traffic accident?
If you have had an accident, you can take a number of actions to strengthen your case. For example, you can start collecting data. The more evidence you have that points in your favor, the greater the chance that the other party will admit liability.
We can help you with this.
There are also a number of things you can do yourself immediately after an accident. We recommend you to keep on mind the following:
(!) FIRST OF ALL, YOUR HEALTH AND THAT OF YOUR PASSENGERS IS MOST IMPORTANT. IN THE EVENT OF INJURIES, ALWAYS CALL 112 FIRST (!)
-
Take photos of the accident, the location of the accident, the damage to your motor vehicle/vehicle, the license plates of the motor vehicles involved;
-
Complete the claim form together as completely as possible;
-
Did the police arrive on the scene? Then try to write down the names and contact details of the officers;
-
Are there any witnesses who saw the accident? Write down their names and details (name, telephone number, address, email address, etc.). This way, the witnesses can also be contacted later;
-
Do you have physical complaints after the accident? Visit a hospital/your GP as soon as possible. If necessary, also take photos of your injuries;
-
Keep track of which doctors/care providers you have visited and when;
-
Keep all receipts/invoices related to your accident (pharmacy costs, parking tickets, etc.).
Do you have the feeling that you are unable to complete the claim form? Or do you have the feeling that the other party is not cooperating? Then we recommend that you involve the police! You are always stronger with a police report. â–
